• Level 1: Nitrous Oxide offers a light, floaty calm that just eases the edge off, and you stay awake and can drive yourself home afterward.
• Level 2: Relaxation Medication is one prescribed pill taken before your visit. You remain awake and responsive, though you will need to arrange a ride home.
• Level 3: Conscious Sedation uses a stronger in-office medication for a dreamlike, deeply relaxed state, and also requires a ride home afterward.

Both Dr. Watts and Dr. Thachil have completed additional coursework to administer sedation in accordance with the Georgia Board of Dentistry’s regulations, and Dr. Watts is permitted to administer Level 3 sedation. Levels 2 and 3 can also be combined for patients who need a deeper level of comfort.

With Level 1 or Level 2 sedation, you will stay awake and responsive throughout your visit. Level 2 may cause you to have little to no memory of your treatment. Level 3 brings on a deeper, dreamlike state where you may fall into a light sleep, but you can still be roused by mild stimuli if needed.

Level 1 wears off quickly, allowing you to resume normal activities and drive yourself home. Levels 2 and 3 take a few hours to fully wear off, so you will need someone to drive you home after your visit.
