Editorial Guidelines for Esteem Dental Studio

Last updated: September 30, 2026

When you look up a dental question online, you deserve information that is accurate, easy to understand, and honest about what it can and cannot tell you. Health information shapes real decisions, from whether to schedule a checkup to how you feel about a treatment you have been putting off. Knowing who wrote what you are reading, and how it was checked, helps you decide how much weight to give it.

At Esteem Dental Studio in Powder Springs, the content on our website is part of how we care for patients. Our practice is guided by three principles: understand, enlighten, and partner. These editorial guidelines explain how we create, review, and maintain the information we share, so you can see the standards behind every page and article. You can learn more about our practice and team anytime.

Who Reviews Our Content

Our practice is co-owned by Dr. Yokeca Nicole Watts, DMD, and Dr. Karan Thachil, DMD, MS. Dr. Watts leads the review of our website content. Before a service page or article is published, she reviews it for clinical accuracy and to make sure it reflects how care is actually provided in our office.

Dr. Watts is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry and completed an implant and surgery-focused residency. She holds active membership in the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Georgia Dental Society. You can read more about both of the dentists who lead our team.

How We Create Content

Our content is developed together with our marketing partners and guided by our doctors. Each piece begins with a clear purpose: answering the questions patients ask us most often and explaining the care we provide. Drafts are written in plain language and shared with Dr. Watts for review and revision before anything goes live.

We write about treatments we offer, such as those listed on our dental services page, and we describe them the way our team explains them in the office. For example, we describe our sedation options by comfort level (Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3) so the terms you read match the terms you will hear during your visit.

Our Standards for Accuracy

Every page and article we publish is held to the following standards.

  • Clinical statements reflect current, evidence-based dentistry
  • Statistics and research findings are linked to their original source and explained in plain language
  • We avoid exaggerated claims and never promise specific results
  • We explain benefits alongside realistic expectations so you can weigh your options
  • We use approachable language and define dental terms when we use them

Honest, Patient-Centered Communication

Integrity is one of our core values. That means being transparent about what a treatment involves, what to expect during recovery, and when a different option might serve you better. We want every reader to finish a page feeling prepared to ask good questions and make choices that fit their health and goals.

Our content also respects patient privacy. We do not publish details that could identify a patient or describe an individual’s care. Reviews and testimonials reflect individual experiences and are not a guarantee of outcomes, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions. Information you share through our website is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Keeping Information Current

Dental care evolves as new research and technology emerge, and our doctors are committed to continuing education. We revisit our content when clinical guidance changes, when we add or update services, and when a review shows that information needs to be clearer. The date at the top of this page shows when these guidelines were last updated.

Our Content Is Not a Substitute for Care

The information on our website is educational. It cannot replace an examination, a diagnosis, or a conversation with a dentist who knows your health history. Please use what you read here to prepare for your visit, not to make treatment decisions on your own. If you are in pain or have a dental injury, please review our emergency dental care information and call our office.

Reporting an Error or Asking a Question

We welcome feedback. If you believe something on our website is inaccurate, outdated, or unclear, please let us know. Our team will review your message and make corrections where needed.
